On 7th March 2018, #ACEP through its technical and financial support organized the Civil Society Joint Working Group (CS-JWG) General Assembly for 200 participants (60 women) representatives from civil society #organizations, #forums, #networks, #associations and the #media organizations. Aimed to elect 31 CS-JWG secretariats out of 80 candidates through transparent and fair #election. As result of the election 17 new civil society representatives joined the CS-JWG secretariat and 14 previous CS-JWG members were reelected.
The election process of the secretariat members managed by an Election Committee composed of 7 elected civil society representatives and it was monitored by an Election Committee composed of 5 civil society representatives and 3 representatives from international organizations including Counterpart International, UNAMA and Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission.
The new elected Civil Society Joint Working Group secretariat will be a solid and trustworthy point of contact for the National Unity Government, Donors and International community for any issue related to civil society in Afghanistan.
